Drago (Dragon in English) is the first Neapolitan Mastiff Imported from Italy to Australia, able to be shown in the conformation ring.
We will forever be grateful to Dr Angelo Dolfi, Allevamento del Robbiano for allowing us to acquire this excellent young dog. Bringing him to Australia was the culmination of a two year project. We had to find a breeder of known top quality dogs, who would “run on” several male pups from a litter from which he could chose one to represent his kennel in Australia, before following the Italian tradition of cropping the ears on those he kept at home. As Angelo is President of the Mario Querci Trophy Society, the premier association of Mastino Napolitano owners and breeders in Italy, we are so very grateful that he was able and willing to spend the time and effort in preparing Drago, and arranging all the extra vaccination and health checks necessary to import to Australia.
Drago was the first Italian bred Neapolitan to become an Australian Champion. He has sired three litters for us, producing Australian Champions, Best in Group, Class in Group and In Show winners, and many much loved companions, passing on his wonderful bone, skin and magnificent head to his offspring – as well as he fabulous personality. Drago is a clown at home, a true Italian Gentleman when out and last but not least a real “Latin Lover” with the Neapolitan ladies, every one gently and lovingly seduced.
